ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) â" The bleary-eyed Denver Broncos gathered solemnly Sunday to collect their things and bid farewell for another winter following their blowout loss to the New England Patriots.
Champ Bailey said it was difficult to look on the bright side just yet, suggesting, "Everybody wants to say we should pat ourselves on the back, but to heck with that. We lost."
The good-byes this year came in mid-January for a change after the Broncos crashed the postseason party for the first time in six seasons.
While some players were buoyed by their bounce-back season in which Tim Tebow engineered a series of stunning fourth-quarter comebacks and overtime triumphs, others were still bummed over their 45-10 pummeling at the hands of the Patriots on Saturday night.
