Broncos buoyed by return to playoffs, bummed by big loss that shows how much work remains

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) â€" The bleary-eyed Denver Broncos gathered solemnly Sunday to collect their things and bid farewell for another winter following their blowout loss to the New England Patriots.

The good-byes this year came in mid-January for a change after the Broncos crashed the postseason party for the first time in six seasons.

While some players were buoyed by their bounce-back season in which Tim Tebow engineered a series of stunning fourth-quarter comebacks and overtime triumphs, others were still bummed over their 45-10 pummeling at the hands of the Patriots on Saturday night.
