Packers express sadness about coordinator's son

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers have issued a statement expressing sadness about the death of their offensive coordinator's son.

Twenty-one-year-old Michael Philbin disappeared early Sunday after an outing with friends in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus area. His body was found in the Fox River Monday, after a security guard reported hearing cries for help from the ice the night before.

Michael Philbin is the son of offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said everyone in the Packers family shares the grief with the Philbin family and their thoughts and prayers are with them.

Autopsy results are not expected for at least a month. No foul play is suspected.

Joe Philbin has been with the Packers since 2003, and has been the team's offensive coordinator since 2007.
