HOCKEY

Brooke Ammerman's goal 44 seconds into overtime gave Wisconsin a 4-3 victory over Minnesota-Duluth at the Kohl Center.

The Badgers (22-2-2, 16-2-2-1 WCHA) outshot the visitors (12-11-1, 9-10-1-1) 31 to 25.

TRACK AND FIELD

Sophomore Alex Hatz won the mile (4:03.58) as the Badgers men and women took the Wisconsin Invitational in Madison.

The Wisconsin men totaled 150 points. Illinois State was second with 128.

Senior Dorcas Akinniyi won the 60 hurdles and high jump and junior Taylor Smith took the shot put and weight throw as the Badgers women edged second-place Illinois State 157.5 to 155.5.

Marquette vs. UW-Milwaukee: The Panthers women beat the Golden Eagles, 72-67, while the Marquette men won, 72-68.

UW-Milwaukee junior Simbi Laaro broke her own school record and set a Klotsche Center mark of 7.52 seconds in the 60 meters.

Teammate Samia Taylor broke her Klotsche Center mark by leaping 12.58 meters in the triple jump. She also tied a Klotsche mark in the long jump at 5.93 meters.

The Golden Eagles set two Klotsche Center records - Jack Hackett won the mile in 4:08.42 and the women's 4x400 relay team of Katie Kemmerer, Jenny Zahn, Gretchen Homan and Stephanie Grant ran in 3:54.24.

SWIMMING

Dan Lester won two individual events and was part of the first-place 400 medley relay team as Wisconsin's men defeated UW-Green Bay, 123-109, in Madison.

Seniors Ashley Wanland, Danielle Beckwith, Beckie Thompson and Amie Osten all won in their final meet in Madison as the Badgers women beat the Phoenix, 124-93.
