GRAND CHUTE â€" A leadoff walk helped the Cedar Rapids Kernels slip past the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3-2 at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium on Friday.

Abel Baker, who had been zero-for-three, led off the ninth with a walk from Wisconsin reliever Mark Williams and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mike Scioscia.

Wendell Soto then delivered a single to left field that moved Andy Workman who came in to pinch run Baker to third.

Kevin Moesquit lifted a fly ball to left field that allowed Workman to score for a 3-2 Kernels lead with Soto getting thrown out while attempting to advance to second.
The Rattlers got their runs in the first and seventh innings.

Jason Rogers homered in the first inning off Kernels starting pitcher Michael Clevinger.

The Rattlers scored their second run in the seventh inning on a walk to Brandon Macias, a stolen base and a double to right by Adrian Williams.
