RHP Josh Stinson was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets and assigned to Class AA Huntsville, where he will pitch out of the bullpen. Stinson, 24, made 14 relief appearances for the Mets last season, going 0-2 with a 6.92 ERA, allowing 14 hits, 10 runs and seven walks in 13 innings, with eight strikeouts.
RF Corey Hart, who had minor knee surgery two weeks into spring training, made a fast recovery and was cleared to play the last two exhibition games and open the season on the active roster. Hart had played in minor-league games to safeguard against a possible DL move, but that did not prove necessary.
INF-OF Brooks Conrad was the final player cut by the Brewers. A non-roster player in camp, Conrad will go down to Class AAA Nashville and play in both the infield and outfield if necessary. He has an "out" clause that allows him to be a free agent if not called up by June 15.
