Los Angeles Dodgers Vs. Milwaukee Brewers 5/28/12: Mitch's Free MLB Baseball Pick - Sports Chat Place

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers meet on Monday at Dodger Stadium for game one of their series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in baseball and they just continue to get it done week after week in the early going. The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 games, 21-5 at home, and they have a 7.5 game lead in the N.L. West. As a team the Dodgers are hitting .270 with A.J. Ellis hitting .317, Andre Ethier hitting .314, and Mark Ellis hitting .273 as Matt Kemp has been out of the lineup after a hot start. As a team the Dodgers pitching staff has an ERA of 3.19 with the starters at 3.06 and the and the bullpen at 3.50. For game one against the Brewers Los Angeles starts Aaron Harang who has won his last two decisions. For the season Harang has allowed 55 hits and 26 earned runs while striking out 46 over 53.2 innings for a 4.36 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers simply don’t look like the same team that won the N.L. Central last season and won a playoff series. The Brewers are 3-7 in the last 10 games, 8-15 on the road this season, and they are eight games back in the division. As a team the Brewers are hitting .242 with Jonathan Lucroy hitting .345, Ryan Braun hitting .312, and Corey Hart hitting .262. As a team the Brewers pitching staff has an ERA of 4.54 with the starters at 4.53 and the bullpen at 4.56. For game one at L.A. Milwaukee starts Shaun Marcum who has lost his last two starts. For the season Marcum has allowed 49 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 49 over 55 innings of work for a 3.93 ERA.

Los Angeles is 6-1 in their last seven games as an underdog, 44-17 in their last 61 home games, and 21-8 in their last 29 game one of a series. Milwaukee is 3-8 in their last 11 games overall, 1-6 in their last seven games as a road favorite, and 0-4 in Marcum’s last four road starts. Milwaukee is 5-2 in the last seven meetings of these two.

The total is set at 7.5 and I look for this one to go over the total. I also have a play on who will win and I will post that in the Premium Area.
