Current Brewers hitters are 51-for-233 (.219 batting average) with a .303 on-base percentage (OBP) against Dempster. Ryan Braun is 11-for-46 (.239 batting average) with 11 RBIs, four doubles, three walks and two home runs. Corey Hart and George Kottaras are the only other players to have hit homers.
June 6, 7:10 p.m.
Paul Maholm (4-4, 4.82 ERA) vs. Zack Greinke (6-2, 3.46 ERA)
Current Brewers hitters are 69-for-229 (.301 batting average) with a .390 OBP against Maholm. Braun is 12-for-35 (.343 batting average) with 10 RBIs, six walks, two doubles and a home run. Hart is 15-for-46 (.326 batting average) with seven RBIs, five walks, four doubles, three homers and a triple. Carlos Gomez is 7-for-15 (.467 batting average) with three RBIs, two doubles and a homer.
June 7, 1:10 p.m.
Matt Garza (2-4, 4.10 ERA) vs. Randy Wolf (2-5, 6.05 ERA)
Current Brewers hitters are 26-for-110 (.236 batting average) with a .331 OBP against Garza. Braun is 3-for-13 (.231 batting average) with four walks, three RBIs, double and home run. Nyjer Morgan is 7-for-15 (.467 batting average) with a walk and triple.
Fan's Take
The Cubs don't have a favorable hand in these pitching matchups. Greinke is 14-0 at Miller Park. Gallardo has a 5-1 record with a 2.77 ERA in 11 career starts against the Cubs. Bryan LaHair probably won't start on June 7 because Wolf is a left-handed pitcher.
The Cubs would be fortunate to win one game in this series. However, National League Central rivalries can be unpredictable. The Brewers are a shell of the team that they were in 2011 because of injuries.
