With nearly everyone of the Milwaukee Brewers injured, Ron Roenicke has changed the batting order more than a girl changes clothes (excuse the Katy Perry reference).
Ron's Wrecking Crew are only batting .240 on the year. All these lineup changes don't seem to be helping.
Corey Hart has been batting leadoff for the Crew as of late, but Roenicke and his staff would rather see him in the five hole and driving in runs.
Now the question is: Who will bat leadoff? Milwaukee only has one true leadoff hitter: Norichika Aoki. His speed, keen eye at the plate, and ability to get on base make him a prototypical leadoff man.
Injuries have devastated this high-hope team, but good teams don't make excuses. Even though a couple of players in the starting lineup could barely make a minor league squad, the Brewers must keep fighting.
The lineup that will have the most success is as follows:
- Norichika Aoki RF
- Rickie Weeks 2B
- Ryan Braun LF
- Aramis Ramirez 3B
- Corey Hart 1B
- Carlos Gomez/Nyjer Morgan CF
- Cody Ransom SS
- Martin Maldonado C
- Pitcher
Yes, I realize Weeks is batting .167 with only 16 RBI. Just think about it for a second before you ridicule me. If Aoki does his job as the leadoff hitter, Weeks has the ability to bunt him over. Gomez and Morgan are both overrated bunters. Most of the time they are unsuccessful. Weeks would thrive at the two spot in this lineup. Weeks was batting in the two hole for a bit but not enough to see if he could actually do something.
With all of the team's injuries, this is the lineup that will score the most runs.
