Racine Journal Times: Gery Woefel says the Bucks could be interested in a big man!
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Charles Gardner says the Bucks could be interested in a guard!
Boy, weâre really narrowing down the possibilities here.
Sarcasm be damned â" itâs a good thing. First, by looking at players of all shapes and sizes, the Bucks appear to be open to drafting the best player available. Â They need upgrades all over the roster, so thatâs a good thing. Â Second, first-round talent has been streaming through the Cousins Center with regularity, so thatâs another positive sign that talented young players arenât shying away from coming to Milwaukee.
Some notes:
From Woelfel:
The Bucks worked out Melo last week and came away impressed. At the Bucksâ request, Melo returned to Milwaukee Monday at the teamâs training facility in St. Francis.
A return visit? Well, thatâs interesting now, isnât it?
And hereâs some lavish praise for Terrence Ross from Bucks assistant GM Jeff Weltman, via Gardner:
âHeâs got NBA written all over him as far as his size, his athletic ability. Itâs very rare you get a guy who is a good shooter and can generate his own shot.
âOften times the guys with the high three-point percentages are the spot-up guys. Heâs a guy that can get it off the dribble, get it in the midrange, get it out on the floor and still have the same mechanics.â
Chicago Tribune: Northwesternâs John Shurna will have worked out for 13 teams by the time his pre-draft travels are over.  When he was in Milwaukee, the 6â9â³ forward made an incredible 36 of 40 three-point shots in a shooting drill. SI.com:  It has gotten to the point where rumors are buying trendy vodka cocktails for other sexy tales, leading to a whole new generation of fresher, younger rumors, but according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld.com (which appears to have buckled under the heavy load of pre-draft traffic), the Bucks want to move into the top-10 to get John Henson.
For each potential draftee, DraftExpress.com selects two players: one indicating the best type of player the draftee could turn out to be, and another indicating who they could be like if they flop. Â For Henson, the best-case scenario is Marcus Camby, which is just wrong. Â He wonât be a Camby â" heâs not tall or strong or skilled enough for that.
The worst-case player comparsion for John Henson?
In a sad bit of irony, Â itâs Larry Sanders.
