Minnesota Twins Vs. Milwaukee Brewers 6/15/12: Tyrone's Free ... - Sports Chat Place

Former American League Central buddies the 25-37 Minnesota Twins and 28-35 Milwaukee Brewers battle at Target Field this weekend beginning Friday. Milwaukee fell in all three at the 27-34 Kansas City Royals while Minnesota lost two of three at home to the 31-34 Philadelphia Phillies.

Ryan Braun homered in the only run for the first five innings during the top of the fourth to put the Brewers ahead 1-0. A KC player and Milaukeee Manager Ned Yost were ejected by Home Plate Umpire Dan Iassogna. With one swing of the bat by Kansas City the Brewers found themselves behind 2-1 during the bottom of the sixth.

Aramis Ramirez's home run squared the game during the top of the seventh. Milwaukee shot ahead during the eighth inning on Cody Ransom's RBI-single scoring Carlos Gomez. The Brewers however fell 4-3 as disaster struck during the bottom of the ninth.

The Twins also struggled early and often all evening offensively on Thursday falling 6-1 to Philadelphia. Trevor Plouffe's second-inning HR was the lone run by Minnesota.

1-7 Francisco Liriano with a 6.45 ERA goes next for the Twins who are 2-4 with him at home. Liriano's lost to the 21-42 Chicago Cubs and 34-30 Los Angeles Angels by conceding eight runs during 10.2 innings. Liriano's only win at Target came 4-0 versus the 29-35 Oakland Athletics in May. Oakland couldn't score any during three innings on the bullpen or six innings against Liriano. Milwaukee is 19-for-60 with 13 RBIs versus Liriano.

5-5 Yovani Gallardo with a 4.21 ERA tosses next for the Brewers. Gallardo's won at the 31-32 Arizona Diamondbacks and 40-24 Los Angeles Dodgers his last two road outings letting in four runs during 13.1 innings. Prior the 35-29 New York Mets, 22-41 San Diego Padres and 33-31 St. Louis Cardinals were unpleasant hosts to Gallardo trouncing in 13 runs during 14 innings to beat him 3-1, 5-0 and 13-1.

On April 11 at Wrigley Field the Cubs lost 2-1 to Gallardo by only driving in a run during seven innings. Minnesota is 19-for-89 with six RBIs against Gallardo. That's a horrific batting percentage. I'll roll with Milwaukee to take the opener at Target although I'll not be holding my breath.
