The Nets are looking to add stud forward Ersan Ilyasova, according to a report out of Milwaukee.
Jun 4, 2012 - Ersan Ilyasova, the Milwaukee Bucks' rebound machine forward, is a target for the Brooklyn Nets, reports Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal-Times (via NetsDaily). Woelfel reports that the Nets scouted Ilyasova heavily late last season and could offer the Turk a contract starting at more than $8 million per season.
Ilyasova has also been connected to European clubs, including Barcelona, one of the (very) few Old World teams that that can compete with the NBA financially these days. But it's unclear as to whether the Turk would prefer to stay in the NBA or return to Europe, where he'd be a legit star and MVP candidate.
The Nets have interesting things going on in their chase for talented forwards. They have been connected to Russian combo forward Andrei Kirilenko, who spent last season playing for CSKA Moscow, and plan to retain Gerald Wallace, who can become an unrestricted free agent. The Nets traded what became their No. 6 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft for Wallace at midseason.
