Mat Latos fanned a personal-best 13 batters in his second career complete game Monday night, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers.

The NL Central leaders won for only the second time in seven games. The defending champion Brewers have dropped eight of 13, falling 7½ games back â€" one shy of their season high.

MLB suspends Byrd 50 games • Free-agent outfielder Marlon Byrd has been suspended 50 games by the league after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. He started the season with the Cubs, was dealt to the Red Sox on April 21 and released earlier this month.
