ESPN.com news servicesMILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun left Tuesday's 3-2 win against St. Louis with what the team called a right groin strain.
Braun, who was taken out of the game in the seventh inning, said the injury, something he has been dealing with off and on all season, wasn't serious. He hoped to play in Wednesday's series finale, a day game.
"Hopefully," Braun said. "We'll see how it feels tomorrow."
Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday left the game earlier after being hit in the leg with a pitch by Brewers starter Randy Wolf. Holliday's injury was described as a left thigh contusion.
