Colorado Rockies edge Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 â€" MLB Recap

The Colorado Rockies edge past the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 in the third and last game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, August 15 at Coors Field in Denver.

Overall the game was played at a high pace but the Rockies’ Tyler Colvin score a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning and helped his team power past the Brewers with a narrow margin.

"I was a little surprised the ball got down the line, I knew they were going to play no doubles and play pretty deep. I didn't hit it to the wall so he had to run a long way for it, which gave EY a chance to run. It's pretty exciting right there, especially when you get to watch EY run,” Colvin said on his performance and the team’s.

Though Brewers’ entire roster showed good commitment but the Rockies seemed more determined as they easily won in the end.

Rockies’ upfront offence did not allow the Brewers to dominate during the entire game. Instead Colorado’s senior players kept them under pressure.

"You're running out of superlatives about the good he's been doing, Today it's his bat and his legs. He's probably the only guy who's scoring from first base on the ball that was hit there,” Rockies’ manager Jim Tracy said.

Rockies’ pitchers including hitters responded well to the Brewers’ offensive attacks especially at middle of the game and played intelligently with a lot of energy.

Starter Guillermo Moscoso pitched four innings for the Rockies and looked confident on the mound. He allowed seven hits and four runs in total on his 8.33 ERA. He did not allow any homer but was able to strike-out three Brewers’ hitters.

His team-mate and closing pitcher Carlos Torres also played well. He pitched 2.1 innings and allowed two runs and two hits. He held the Brewers well and did not allow any loop-holes on his 4.66 ERA.

On the other hand, Brewers’ starter Mark Rogers certainly lost the game for his team. He was smashed for five runs and seven hits along with a homer. He retired only four while his ERA rose to 4.94.
