The Milwaukee Brewers will try and bounce back from their difficult loss Monday against the Miami Marlins.
Brewers starter Michael Fiers was unable to get control of his pitches as he surrendered four earned runs on six hits in only 3 1/3 innings. Call-up Brandon Kintzler pitched his first inning for Milwaukee this season and performed well allowing only one hit. Carlos Gomez hit a two-run home run and Ryan Braun had an RBI single for the only runs scored.
The following is the Brewers lineup against the Marlins for Tuesday night:
Right Field: Norichika Aoki
Second Base: Rickie Weeks
Left Field: Ryan Braun
Third Base: Aramis Ramirez
First Base: Corey Hart
Catcher: Jonathan Lucroy
Center Field: Carlos Gomez
Shortstop: Jeff Bianchi
Pitcher: Shaun Marcum
Starter Shaun Marcum will take the mound for Milwaukee with the hopes of recording his first win since June 8. Marcum was the center fold for trade talks last week as the Brewers were looking for suitors to make a deal. However, the deadline came and went with Marcum still playing for Milwaukee.
At this point, he must show the organization his arm is healthy enough to get the job done if he wants to play for the Brewers next season. If anything, he must show the rest of MLB he can still pitch considering he is a free agent at the end of the year. Personally, I would like to see Marcum succeed because he has consistently shown to be a top notch middle of the rotation guy.
Jeff Bianchi gets another start at shortstop, his fourth in Milwaukee’s last seven games. Over that span, he is batting .231 with two home runs and four RBI. Hopefully, he can add to those numbers and help the Brewers get another victory. With the season winding down, every defensive play and every plate appearance could determine if Bianchi will be a part of the Brewers future.
