Valparaiso holds off Green Bay 90-87

VALPARAISO, IN - Matt Kenney scored 21 points and Kevin Van Wijk added 18 to lead Valparaiso to a 90-87 victory against Green Bay on Saturday.

Jay Harris had 17 points and made five 3-pointers for the Crusaders (9-6, 2-1) Horizon League. Kenney made four shots from 3-point range.

Alec Brown had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Aaron Armstead scored 19 points and made five 3-pointers for the Phoenix (6-8, 2-2).

Green Bay never led after 16:07 remained in the first half but got within 83-80 in the final minute.

Jay Harris made a 3-pointer for Valpo with 28 seconds remaining, and two Van Wijk free throws gave it the cushion to withstand a 3-pointer by Armstead with four seconds left.

Ryan Broekhoff had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Crusaders.
