Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles to return for 2012-13 season - SportingNews.com

Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles will return to coach the team for a fifth season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

His team finished the lockout-shortened season 31-35, missing out on the Eastern Conference’s last playoff spot by four games. It’s the fifth time in the last six seasons, and third in the last four under Skiles, the Bucks failed to make the postseason.

Skiles told the Journal Sentinel he had discussions with owner Herb Kohl and general manager John Hammond before deciding to make another playoff push in 2012-13, the final year of his contract.

"We want to get moving in that direction consistently," Skiles told the paper. "Now we have to get it done on the court."

The Bucks remained in playoff contention through most of the season before fading late, when the team went 3-7 in its last 10 games. Despite finishing four games under .500, the mark still was an improvement upon the team’s 35-47 record the previous season.

Skiles signed a four-year deal in April 2008 and received a one-year extension in October 2010.
